Mandate

  • Unter dem Dach des Schweizerischen Nationalmuseums sind drei Museen sowie das Sammlungszentrum in Affoltern am Albis vereint. Die Museen präsentieren Schweizer Geschichte von den Anfängen bis heute, und erschliessen – auch mit temporären Ausstellungen zu aktuellen Themen – die schweizerischen Identitäten und die Vielfalt der Geschichte und Kultur unseres Landes.

    Nach dem Bundesgesetz über die Museen und Sammlungen des Bundes stellt der Museumsrat die Umsetzung der vom Bundesrat festgelegten strategischen Ziele für das Museum sicher und berichtet über deren Erreichung.

    Vanessa Rüegger ist seit Januar 2024 durch den Bundesrat gewähltes Mitglied des Museumsrats und seit Januar 2025 Präsidentin des Finanzausschusses.

  • Das Kontrollorgan über den Staatsschutz des Kantons Basel-Stadt unterstützt die Vorsteherin oder den Vorsteher des Justiz- und Sicherheitsdepartements (JSD) bei der Dienstaufsicht über den Kantonalen Nachrichtendienst (KND). Es berichtet jedes Jahr über seine Tätigkeiten und Feststellungen.

    Vanessa Rüegger ist seit Juli 2025 vom Regierungsrat gewähltes Mitglied des Kontrollorgans.

  • Beratung des Data Science Competence Center (DSCC) des Bundesamtes für Statistik zu Datenmanagement und KI für Datenleistungen an die Bundesverwaltung und den öffentlichen Sektor.

  • The Geneva Academy provides postgraduate education, conducts academic legal research and policy studies, and organizes training courses and expert meetings. It concentrates its activities on branches of international law that relate to situations of armed conflict, protracted violence and protection of human rights.

    Established in 2007 by the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, the Geneva Academy has acquired a global reputation for excellent teaching and research, and it attracts exceptional students to its advanced master’s and training programmes.

    The Board is composed of independent individuals representing the founding institutions – the Geneva Graduate Institute and the University of Geneva – along with main partners. Major management decisions and the Geneva Academy’s strategy are discussed with and approved by the Board.

    Vanessa Rüegger is Member of the Board since spring 2025.

  • The Digital Law Center (DLC) serves as a center of expertise in digital law at the University of Geneva.

    The DLC develops training, research, and service activities in the field of digital law for the benefit of the university community and society at large. Its goal is to position the University of Geneva and its Faculty of Law as a center of excellence in digital law at both the national and international levels.

    Vanessa Rüegger is a Member of the Board of Directors since 2025.

  • The Centre universitaire du droit de l’art focuses on teaching and research in the field of cultural property and art law.
